The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) is a state-level eligibility test conducted once every year by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha (BSE). OTET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for OTET 2025.
For Paper I (Primary Teacher for Classes I–V)
- Higher Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
- OR Higher Secondary with 45% marks and a 2-year D.El.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
- OR Higher Secondary with 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- OR Graduation with a 2-year D.El.Ed
For Paper II (Upper Primary Teacher for Classes VI–VIII)
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)
- OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
- OR Graduation with 45% marks and 1-year B.Ed (as per NCTE norms)
- OR Higher Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed or B.A./B.Sc.Ed.
- OR Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed (Special Education)
Note: There is no upper age limit to apply for the OTET 2025 exam.
